Fanatec DD1 quick release very tight
hi
as title says, i have no problem to push my wheels on even know it is tight (locking ring softly keeping the rubber bit's back as manual says) but when it cones to remove the wheel i have to pull it very hard. the rubber part grips it so tight (with locking ring open). is there any factory solution to this? silicone grease or something?
No wonder so many people braking the pins.

DONT LISTEN TO THESE CLOWNS.
A TINY BIT OF LUBE ON THE RUBBER AND U R SORTED
AS THEY SAY NO LUBE NO RIDE...
What kind of lube is recommended?
i would not use mineral based stuff as the rubber will be destroyed, so i guess it have to be silicone.
I just read in another thread that the rubber ring should never be lubricated as it can destroyed or get bigger. You should only lubricate the metal part of the shaft.
silicone will not hurt rubber, only mineral based grease would expand rubber, and the fitting is so tight that anything put on the metal will push towards the rubber anyway.
but also dont put too much on it anyway as if something stuck in the grease small dirt dust or anything and it will stuck on the shaft and you will have hard time remove the wheel.
I just lubricated the rubber ring with pure liquid silicone, spray on cloth in a very small amount and then gently rub the rubber ring, works perfectly. You can alss use PTFE as it doesn't damage rubber.
