CSL DD USB cable

Just got my DD and noticed that the USB-C cable (wheel base side) is on the PC side a white connecter (USB-A) indicating that this is actually just an USB 2 cable.
An USB 3 connector should be blue.
I searched and could not find any information about it. So WTH is this all about? I have USB 3 ports, USB 2 ports and even an dedicated USB-C port on my PC and quite a number of USB stuff, but none comes with a cable so weird.
Any idea greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Why is it weird?
It's a regular USB-C to USB-A 2.0 cable. It's not a USB 3.0 cable.
Literally doesn't matter. Don't need the extra bandwidth.
True regarding the bandwidth but but perhaps would benefit from the asynchronous communication capability of USB 3. I wonder whether issues like jolts on other Fanatec DD wheels are due to the data polling limitations of USB 2. It's 20 year old technology and makes little sense to include it in products developed now.
Gagarin, you nailed it. Why would you develop a piece of hardware - mind you the DD is a brand spanking new product - with an USB-C interface and then not using USB 3, well knowing that most people would assume that. On YT every reviewer raved about the DD and they all mentioned that they liked the USB-C connectivity and none of them picked up the fact that this is just an old USB 2 with a different connector.
On top of it Fanatec decided not to mention it anywhere...
This is weird.
Hi there, regarding your post, I’m planning to upgrade to the CSL DD and a new cockpit 8040 aluminum profiles, but I’ll need a longer usb cable to connect it to my pc. Does anyone knows if a 6 meter long USB cable would work fine? Tks a lot!
USB cables should not exceed 3 Meters for ensured compatibility.
The longer the cable, the more likely you are to experience problems. Whether it will be reliable for you depends very much on your environment and the quality of the cable. If you have no choice other than to use such a long cable, buy a good quality one with a braided shield and ferrite beads to minimise the effects of interference. I have good experiences with L-Com cables.
6 meter USB cable is a stretch - pun intended. :-)
However, I have a Sabrent 20 meter active boosted USB cable used for a remote DSLR application with very reliable results. Not sure if this is still available though, bought it several years ago. search for 'active' or 'boosted' USB cable. It's going to be somewhat expensive though.
Cheers.
Tks! I’ll do some research!
