CSL DD Fanalab Compatibility Mode
Hi all,
When the CSL DD is in PC mode (RED LED), Fanalab recognises the wheel and shows all the available profiles, however when it's in the mostly recommended Compatibility Mode (YELLOW LED), Fanalab doesn't detect the wheel. Is this normal behaviour? Is it right that i start the games with PC mode enabled, and then change to Compatibility Mode once in the game? It seems a little odd way to work, as if you map all your functionality in PC mode within games, it then doesn't recognise the bindings etc when in Compatibility mode.
Cheers

To be honest, I haven't had any trouble running in PC mode. Granted, I've only played Assetto Corsa and American Truck Simulator so far, but both games seem to recognize the wheel and allow me to assign all functions just fine. FFB seems to be great once I spend a little time dialing in settings. I'm not sure why Compatibility mode is recommended seemingly across the board.
Its for the leds to work properly apparently.
You ONLY need the Compatibility mode for games which do not detect "unknown" button inputs.
But most games nowadays do feature this so the only reason for the Compatibility Mode then is to get native LED and Display working WITHOUT FanaLab.
When you use FanaLab, there is literally no reason anymore to use Comp Mode because the LEDs are no longer controlled by a specific game profile from the game but directly from FanaLab.
Ah...I guess that explains it then, yeah. I'm running Fanalab and like I said, so far all games seem to be detecting the new hardware and are working just fine. 👍
While I have a DD2, I don’t seem to be able to play forza horizon 4 without going into compatibility mode. Is that common for everyone else?
Yes you need Comp Mode for that game because the game Doesnt support P DD natively.
Same with Forza Motorsport 7 (PC) and the CDL DD, as I've just discovered. If I start the game up with the wheel in PC mode, the wheel is basically dead - no response whatsoever. Switch over to cmp mode, and it sees it as a CSW 2.5 and all is well.
Thank you!
ACC doesn't work with native mode here. I still keep using the compatibility mode since all games are working.
ACC works in native mode but requires mapping the buttons and axis again as its recognised as a new controller.
No LEDs and no Display working in native Mode without FanaLab though.
Tried that but the game doesn't recognize the base. only in comptability mode
It does recognize the Base just fine, just without any preset so you have to bind all buttons and axes manually. On top of that the LEDs and the Display are not working when you dont use FanaLab.
So its still best to use Comp mode for ease of use.
I have found whilst the wheel "works" to steer, change gears and so forth in native mode, the LEDs do not and I get no forcefeedback on ACC. I will try the compatibility mode
Hi,
I have a similar problem but the game (f1 2021) does not recognize my wheel when I have the base on PC mode. I can only play when I turn to Comp mode. Is that normal? I have the CSL DD with Formula v2 rim. To father note I also have issues with the FFB, it changes every time I paus the game or restart a lap.
I play ACC in compatibility mode CSW 2.5. Playing in this mode do I lose inputs and FFB values in comparison to DD PC mode?
No
grazie ;)
My fanatec handbrake doesn’t work in FH5 on the CSL DD , any help ?
