CSL DD compatibility mode
What is CSL DD compatibility mode? what are the downside on leaving the wheel always on compatibility mode. Some game, like R3E, do not work well with the CSL DD when not in compatibility mode, is the reverse true with other Sim?
I have found that AMS 2 cannot use the paddles in game even though it is possible to assign them in the UI. Is a solution coming?
Rfactor 2 seem to be forgetting all wheel assignment, and so is R3E, is there a solution, it is getting annoying to have to map the buttons over and over each time I launch those Sim, i never had that issue with my CRS Elite.

I use Fanalab to store my settings. I boot up the PC, with the CSL DD in PC mode. Load up the settings i want in Fanalab, then switch the DD to CMP mode. Close Fanalab, launch the game, good to go.
Once in a while I'll need to reboot, or turn the wheel off/ on to get things working, but I'd say 90% of the time this works just fine with AC, ACC, rf2, etc.
I fixed the issue in AMS2 by using custom profile instead of Fanatec profile.

At the moment there is no disadvantage in leaving the CSL DD in compatibility mode all the time. The fundamental performance of the base is the same in PC mode and COMP mode. Compatibility mode makes the USB ID the same as a ClubSport Wheel Base V2.5, which tends to be 'more detectable' in older games. PC mode exists because games could choose to natively support the CSL DD moving forward, and they could potentially communicate with the base in a way that is more specifically tuned for its features. We expect that the majority of sims receiving regular updates will eventually natively support the CSL DD, and most unreleased sims releasing in the near future should natively support the CSL DD too.

Apart from the fact it won't work with fanalab.
That's not correct, CSL DD in Compatibility Mode should work fine with FanaLab. Please check that you have the latest version installed.
