What happens with RMA’d gear that gets replaced with new equipment?

I’m in the early stages of having my DD1 returned to Fanatec North America as part of an RMA process. Hoping my base can be repaired and returned in the not too distant future.

But I’m curious, when and if they decide to replace an RMA return with a new unit, what happens to the original wheel base (or other products) afterwards? Do they refurbish returned gear and re-sell somewhere?
