DD2 - Should I be periodically remove Base Lock Ring/Quick Release to unbind the cable?

. . . or does the DD's sense the degree position and calibrate and untangle upon every power-on initialization automatically every-time?

I ask because during a Boosted Media QR swap YT video, his cable looked all bound-up and he unwound it before re-assembly.

    Not needed, no.

It actually even should be twisted when you insert a new QR, that's fine.

The appearance of these connection cables is a bit misleading - they are not twisting all the time when the shaft rotates, they are static. We have a wireless system before this cable (inside the motor) that allows the transfer of power and data across a 'gap', meaning that you can spin the wheel in either direction infinitely. (When the base is turned on, the rotation is electronically limited for safety, but when the base is turned off you can spin it as much as you like without harming anything.)
