Wheelbase and Standby mode

Is there a known problem that the PC does not switch to standby mode when the Wheelbase is switched on? As soon as I press the Wheelbase's off switch, the PC goes back into standby after the set time. Is there a solution for this, other than always having to turn off the wheelbase?
