Everyone who Googles "Simracing wheel" will immediately find the Fanatec webshop. They dont want and dont need the Local stores or other online Shops.
The insolvency did not happened because they didnt sold enough. They actually oversold some stuff which has lead to problems... Having Local stores or other online Shops at this point would have made the whole situation even worse than it already is...
when you younger not have that much money to spend and want first sim gear then usually companies like Logitech and Thrustmaster wins at this, because fanatec does not offer anymore what they offered in old days.
another is also of course that those products you can get simply from almost any shop where sell the games as well.

At nowdays there is competition with simracing gear, who will buy unfinished products like CS DD(+).
