Wheel not working when updating firmware and disconnecting base from computer

I have a csl dd and a csl univeral hub v2 and the csl elite mclaren gt3 v2. I have updated the driver to the 462 version. The wheel base firmware is updated to 1.2.0.9 version. Once I go to flash the firmware for either one of my wheels, it will go through the process and then it will disconnect my wheel base from the computer and the power button for the wheel base will flash multiple colors. as soon as i take the wheel off from the base it will reconnect the wheel base. has anyone experienced a similar issue or could try to point me in the right direction.
