As the others already said, there is no need to connect the pedals via USB for all day usage. The only "problem" via RJ12 is, that you can't update the firmware. So if you like to update the firmware of the V3 pedeals you have to connect them via USB (but only USB, never connect them via USB and RJ12 at the same time!). But firmware updates for the pedals are very rare. This was the first time I got one since i own the V3 pedals.
On the other hand, the problem via USB is, that you need an extra USB port and you cannot change the brake force in the tuning menu (you have to do that in the driver settings in this case).
For me, I took of the upper plate, disconnected RJ12, connected USB, made the firmware update and then I switched back to RJ12 and put the plate back in place.
Quick reaction / correction on that one. How about something on the time path of fixing the jolts / itm issues on DD bases? At the moment people who own a DD1 or DD2 have a base that doesn’t function 100% and it has been a problem that is around for a while now.
For one or another reason no one from Fanatec seems to be able to give an answer on that which almost makes you think there is more than “only a software issue” to get it fixed.
This is no correction to my statement regarding the pedals though...
Jolts are a topic which is being investigated throughout this year, there is no solution for them atm and a fix is unfortunately not coming in the very near future, this will still take some months. But his issue is definetely not forgotten!
The Linear Setting in general was not touched and not changed, it was only made enabled as the new default setting but works exactly like 13 months ago where it was introduced.. ;)
I meant you corrected my answer where I was mentioning the higher resolution when connected with USB. ;)
However the jolts / ITM issues is something that is going on for ages now and it’s time that Fanatec steps up the game fixing it. The screen is a useless feature now on the DD wheelbases while Fanatec still mentions it as a “feature” on the product page but doesn’t state anywhere that this feature affects the functionality in a negative way when used for what it’s supposed to do.
Users don’t pay a 1000+ euro for a “premium” DD base that is somewhat crippled. A bit more transparency from Fanatec and a time path would be nice.
So to be clear about the V3 pedals we have to disconnect from the base and connect on a usb port t0o update them, then can we reconnect to the base? and is it only with 3.99beta or can we update using what we have already installed?
All you have to do is to watch the tutorial video from the first post how to update firmwares manually.
You only have to check the box top right to enable manual update. Then click on update pedals, click the three dots and select the firmware 1.30 which is already pre-selected for you. Then flash.
Alternatively every driver from the last 6 years contains the older firmware 1.30.
Ok i know . I saw now that the old firmware is on my PC . I should open my eyes . So now i am back on 1.3 but same result .Pedals dont work with RJ 12 but with usb connetion
Updated to v399 yesterday and I've also updated my V3 pedals.
After calibrating them again, I found that BRF feels a lot different to me. I used 65 BRF for ACC and 80 BRF for Skippy on iRacing. After the update, 65 BRF requires almost no force. 95 BRF now feels like 65 BRF before the update.
And I when it put it a 100% it feels hard to press like it was before, but as soon as you drop it just 5%, it feels a lot softer than before.
That was always there but is a completely different thing and not the Tuning Menu Brf setting which you can adjust on the fly and save in Fanalab profiles.
Can't upload the new driver for my V2 wheel. I'm on pc mode and when trying to update the motors inside my wheel starts to vibrate (there's a warning it only shopuld happen in xbox mode) and the "please wait" message didn't desapear after 5 min, so nothing happens.

Thx Guies, the Linear setting works much better now. No loss of grip in iRacing anymore.

CSL Elite PS4 updated without issue so far...
Well it was not doing for me before but it does now ... :-)
Thank you Andreas.
It works after I changed "Regional format" from Swedish to English (United States)
After firmware upgrade to CSP v 3 in new 1.31 i cannot run CSP via Base . I ve to use Usb . Were to get 1.30 fimware ?
What do you mean? 8 am running 1.31 perfectly fine via RJ12 connection.
What is not working anymore?
To change back to v1.3p just click manual update, then the three dots and select the already pre selected v1.30
Hi Murice . Rj 12 connection didnot work with Base after upgrading fimware 1.31 with old it was working . Now i can use pedals only with USB
Can you give me the old firmware CSP 1.3 so i can reverse it
Still dont understand as it's working fine here.
You made sure to Disconnect usb again and then only connect via RJ12?
No because it's included included in the driver. I gave you the instruction how you can reverb back to 1.30 by yourself in my previous reply.
there is no single file to download . Then if have to go back to an old driver . Do you know which driver contains old firmware

Correct. Just make sure to NEVER have both RJ12 and USB connected at the same time!
Ok i know . I saw now that the old firmware is on my PC . I should open my eyes . So now i am back on 1.3 but same result .Pedals dont work with RJ 12 but with usb connetion
How did you updated the pedals?
You connected them via USB while you still had the pedals connected via RJ12 to the base as well?
Ok cheers, is it best to uninstall older drivers or can we updtae over the top?
No i updated the CSP with USB cable only . Then disconnected usb and went to RJ12
it works only in USB mode . Maybe it is the base firmware making that trouble . wait for the newer version instead of beta

is that BRF work with USB ?
i think not . i cant see that it is working
Brf is only working when pedals are connected via RJ12 to the base directly.
with new beta driver i can adjust that in Usb menu via the left side scrollbar and set it to 95 .
That was always there but is a completely different thing and not the Tuning Menu Brf setting which you can adjust on the fly and save in Fanalab profiles.
