  • Hello players!

I'm Andreia Mendes, Social Media & Community Manager at Saber Interactive Porto, the development studio behind Dakar Desert Rally.

I will be here to help the community and give support to our game. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

I'd also like to share with you all our most recent video that shows two legendary Dakar vehicles from the 80s: the DAF Truck Turbo-Twin and Ari Vatanen's Peugeot 405 Turbo 16, both playable as day one in-game unlocks when you purchase the Deluxe Edition of our game.

    Hope you enjoy it!

  • Hi, is vr supported?

  • Hello Andreia!

I saw on the dakarthegame website, that the Fanatec GT DD Pro wheel for PS is not listed under the supported wheels. Do you plan on to supporting it as well?

  • So this will be like snowrunner from the same developer which means no support if you have for example fanatec wheel and heusinkveld pedals because the game supports only one game controller? If so, it so lazy from the developers... You will alienate thousands of possible players like that.

  • Odd that that list shows compatibility with a bunch of different Fanatec wheels, and not the actual wheelbases. 🤔

  • So is the csl dd supported with this game? Want to pre order but only if my set up is supported on xbox

  • That is the million dollar question… maybe Andreia can help us out here?

Just tried the game with my DDpro 5nm and I have no force feedback what so ever, not even in compatibility mode. Shame on me finding out about this after the purchase.

What a shame, hopefully this will be supported down the line. No reason in playing with my rig like this, absolutely atrocious.

This is on PS5 with McLaren Rim.

  • Thank you for taking the bullet for all of us here! I’m really curious when and if we here something official here… I actually was looking forward to this game, but this kind of “support” is really worrying tbh.

  • More or less good news, I found this (picture) on the official website under wheel support. So GT DD Pro support should be coming - yesss! The question is only when?

  • Getting a refund as it should of launched with support.

CSL DD steering axis isn't mapable. So can't use the wheel. The buttons work but not the axis.

It's a joke that a game in 2022 on pc just doesn't let you map whatever axis you want. RBR has that function and that was 18 years ago. Crazy. Simply not good enough. Really amateur behaviour.

Seems we were right to be suspicious about the lack of any reviews or proper gameplay content before release.

  • DD2 Steering do not work in the game Dakar Desert Rally.

    Handbrake is inverted.

    The others buttun work.

  • Hello everyone,

To answer some of your questions:

    1. Dakar Desert Rally does not support VR at the moment.

    2. With the game release, we updated our official website to list Fanatec steering wheels as "coming soon":

    These include:

    - FANATEC CSL Elite

    - FANATEC ClubSport RS

    3. For now, Dakar Desert Rally will only support the steering wheels available on our official website, but depending on the number of players’ requests, other ones might be added in the future.

So keep the requests coming! 💪

    4. More wheel and force feedback updates are coming in the next patch:

  • Does CSL DD Pro work with PS5/Series X versions?

  • I'd love to be able to play using my Fanatec DD1 and Podium GT World Challenge wheel.

  • Hi,

These are working fine after patch 1.4 of Dakar Desert Rally!!

    Thank you fanatec and Saber!!😍

  • Hello everyone,

We’ve launched our latest patch for Dakar Desert Rally for Steam. This patch fixes a number of issues with steering wheel support, force feedback support, AI behavior, handling on Bikes and Quads, and much more.

We’ve also added our first free DLC, the Extended Saudi Arabia Map, which adds the complete simulation events from Dakar Rally 2020, Dakar Rally 2021, and Dakar Rally 2022.

We’re working to get this patch out for consoles as soon as we can, and we’ll post an update when it goes live. We’re going to continue improving, updating, and adding to the game.

    The full patch notes:

    Wheel Support (Fanatec Steering Wheels):

    • Fanatec CSL Elite
    • Fanatec CSL Elite (WRC)
    • Support for Steering Wheel H-Pattern and Steering Wheel Hand Brakes with supported brands
    • Force Feedback Support was added to all supported wheels

If you experience any issues, please reach out to http://support.saber.games or [email protected]

Thank you all for your patience and constructive feedback. We appreciate it! 🙏

  • And it happened... no separate pedals support... we are in 2022

  • Hello Anthony,

At the moment, our game doesn't support mixed setup from different vendors.

But our team is currently investigating that option.

  • We’ve recently launched our latest patch for PlayStation and Xbox, which fixes a number of issues with auto-saves, steering wheel support, force feedback, AI behavior, handling on Bikes and Quads & much more.

Read the full patch notes here: https://support.saber.games/hc/en-us/articles/10271514958097

    Wheel Support (Fanatec Steering Wheels):

    • Fanatec CSL Elite (PS4 / PS5)
    • Fanatec CSL Elite (WRC) (Xbox One / Xbox Series X)
    • Support for both Steering Wheel H-Pattern and Steering Wheel Hand Brakes with supported brands
    • Force Feedback Support was added to all supported wheels

If you see that your steering wheel model is not yet supported, please, leave a suggestion at https://feedback.saber.games/dakar-desert-rally or [email protected].

    Thank you. 🙏

  • Hi,

when will other Fanatec Wheels be supported for PC which are currently listed as „comming soon“, e.g. the GT DD Pro.

And I read also somewhere that this might run in compatibilty mode but without FFB. When does the FFB get fixed?

And is it planned to get the Telemetry data, like speed, positon, … available for tablet dashboards, like SimHub?

  • So is there eta when CSL DD Pro would start to work in PS5-version?

  • Hi felow Dakar fans!

What kind of settings you use for DD?

In meniu it's very strange to see not degrees, but some funny stuf. Also cant decide on other settings.

  • Dakar doesn't recognize any steering input from my Fanatec CSL Elite base and F1 Esports wheel. It does however recognize button inputs from my wheel, and it does recognize CSL Elite throttle and brake pedal inputs.

I updated the wheel's firmware, for no effect. The wheel works fine in other games, including the original Dakar game.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I'll have to refund this if I can't get my wheel to work.

  • Hello Angus,

Currently, our game does not support F1 Esports steering wheel. You can check the list of Dakar Desert Rally's compatible steering wheels on our official website: https://www.dakarthegame.com/

If you want to see your steering wheel model being supported, you can leave a suggestion at https://feedback.saber.games/dakar-desert-rally

  • Hello everyone,

In our latest patch, we implemented Steering Wheel Angle detection in our game.

More steering wheels will be supported in later patches, including the ones that are listed as "coming soon" on the website, but we cannot be disclosing a date yet.

Regarding Force Feedback, according to our team, we currently have the default settings that we had the best experience with for Force Feedback. The settings are set at 60%, adjusted to each of the steering wheels that are supported by our game.

Some users may prefer more Force Feedback or less, and we have a slider to adjust the Force Feedback strength, as well for the other Force Feedback settings.

If you are experiencing any issues with the Force Feedback, please also check if this article can be helpful:

We will continue to listen to the community's feedback to know which of the steering wheels are more requested to be added to our game.

Thank you for your constant help on this matter! 🙏

  • I own the Fanatec CSL Elite which is listed as supported. It does not work when connected to the DD1 base. Wheel support is based on the base unit not the wheel itself.

  • Can we expect multiple controller (t-gt II and fanatec csl elite pedals) support, i cant race with pedals and steering wheel atm and this gets on my nerves. I like well worked out sims and the game feels good and looks amazing but not being able to use my sim bothers me.
