Hello good, I have the dd1 ps4 base and I have tried the 381 driver and it has a feeling that I do not like that I do not know if it is a problem with the driver or my dd1 engine, even removing the calibration I experience a scratchy feeling in the curves when it happens the steering wheel at about 45 degrees that does not come from the ffb, I have tested it with the bmw steering wheel and the feeling is the same.
I normally run on rfactor2.
I don't know if it's a problem with the 381 driver or with my hardware and I have to open a support ticket.
For me it is so annoying to drive that I had to go back to the 346 driver.
after flashing the wheelbase FW your settings got reset + you got some new settings to go with. Have you tried playing around with the new settings like Inertia, Interpolation etc?
can you post all your settings from the wheelbase?
I had also a very bad experience with the newest driver at first, but it was just one wrong setting which changed it all, now I wouldn't go back to any old driver.
You drive with FF10??? This is only 2Nm of Peak Torque, so even lower than a Logitech Wheel...?!
Why are you running so incredibly low FFB?
Otherwise the settings should be fine. You could try to set DPR to OFF as this can also cause some roughness.
If it's still happening with disabled DPR then it's the well known rF2 notchiness issue which was reported several times and needs to be fixed by the game devs I think
I agree with Maurice, the overall FF is way to low with 10, this low value kills everything.
Set [FF] to 100
then go to rF2 calibration menu:
Force feedback
Car specific Multiplier: 35 - 45
Smoothing: 6
Minimum Steering Torque: 0
You also have to take care, there is a bug in rF2, when you change the car class from an older car to a newer car it can create very strong notches in the FFB, almost feels mechanical (only a Sim restart helps). This also can happen when you restart a race while the FFB is very active, like in the middle of a crash.
With the newest driver you are able to feel understeer much better and have much more road feeling.
I definitely think it is a problem with my hardware with this driver, because I have tried all the recommendations, I even went down parameter by parameter and the problem does not go away.
I have also tried Automobilista 2, ACC and I have the same problem of sensation of electrical interference even on the straights, turning the steering wheel with the car stopped there are several points where this interference exists.
I had a dd1 ps4 base that I had to change due to vibration problems and with the uncalibrated 380 driver I did not have these interferences.
I have a problem seen and tested, the issue is reproducable. I playing only on PS4.
I have changed in the CSW Modus (Yellow) to play Project Cars, WRC5 etc.
By starting the game with firmware 672, normally will stay an "n" in the Wheel Display and the game runs perfect. But since the Firmware 674 and later the games don´t run and in the Wheel is not standing the "n" in the Display.
The Base Firmware
Wheel Base Model (product ID): CSL Elite
Steering Wheel Model (product ID): BMW GT 2
Driver Version: unknown because only PS4
Base FW Version: 674, 680, rc
Motor FW Version: 22
Wheel FW Version: unknown
FanaLab Version: not used
please fix this problem for the future firmwares, for playing the games on PS4 i have written before.
I have no Idea why in the display a "n" apear or what it means, but the wheel is connected to the Game when it standed there. And it is the only one seeing different on the wheel between working and not working. If the "n" is not in the display from the wheel it is normally not working.
When the "n" is shown this indicates for me that the wheel is NOT working because n means Neutral Gear and when the n Doesnt change then obviously something is not working.
So imo it's fixed when it's now showing nothing at all anymore.
also for me it is not important if there is standing an "n" or something else. But the funktion should be work. And this is it not. Normally the Game is connected with the Base. But now it is not connected and it is not possible to use the wheel with fw. 674 or above.
Okay now we're getting there, so after you updated to driver 381 on PC and updated the firmware of your CSW V2(?) the wheel is NOT working in the yellow mode anymore? Did you try other games yet?
I have only Project Cars and WRC 5 buyed on the PS4 and no PC games. Only this games i can say it doesn´t work. Eventually can be also another games, but i can´t say it.
The singing/chirping is back. Specially when the wheel is idle and doing nothing. Ingame or just when sitting on the W10 background. I recall it was not really present with driver 347, but any newer and it would sing/chirp.
When turning the wheel in certain positions and leave it the singing would be less loud or even absent. Pressing the wheel slighting up or a bit down or even press it forward or pull it a bit would do the same thing.
So.. Is it a driver/firmware issue or is it how the CSW 2.5 is build or, I hope not, is the base damaged? Also I recall others have/had the same issues in the previous topics.
So this what I described above is coilwhine? That the wheel sings/chirps when idle, and that putting the wheel in certain angles/positions would make it less noisy or even absent, or even pull/press it a bit forward, up, down, etc. So it's a firmware-thing? To be concluded I should downgrade from v22 to v20? To get rid of it, or make it less singing.
Personally, I am not a Fanatec-technician, I would say it's a hardware-thing. Like there's parts pressing/rubbing on each other or so. But I will try v20 and report back.
Good, will keep it as it is. Will ignore the singing/chirping for now then. Until there's a newer firmware or any other solution. Perhaps it's dust-built up, haha.

Thanks for the reply and that is what I feared. Looks like I will have to soldier on until I get a CSL E wheelbase.

A greeting.

This is my configuration in Rfactor2, the sensation is like current flow or interference, with the 346 driver it doesn't happen to me.
Thanks for helping.

Why do you want to have a "n" being displayed on the Display when it seems it's notnchanging through the gears but stays on n (=Neutral)?!
I don't get your problem at all, is it just the "N" on the display, not be shown anymore when you start a game?
I have no Idea why in the display a "n" apear or what it means, but the wheel is connected to the Game when it standed there. And it is the only one seeing different on the wheel between working and not working. If the "n" is not in the display from the wheel it is normally not working.

so you still tried yellow mode or did you try blue mode yet?
Another games like Gran Turismo sport work in blue mode fw680 too, but the games I called before work only in yellow mode fw672 and below.
if you only play those games on PS4 it might be the best to downgrade to FW 672 again. Thank you for the report.

Yours,

which motor fw are you on? one of them caused coil whine.
PC driver: 381
Wheelbase Firmware: 680
Motor Firmware 22
I used v20 during 347. However, I updated to v22 because 381 is the official driver from now on. Does v22 cause this singing?
Yours,
Rinus
I believe that was one of the known issues for v22 like Sascha mentioned. You can download motor firmware v20 separately from here.
https://forum.fanatec.com/discussion/1054/fanatec-beta-driver-v346-for-csl-csw-and-podium-bases-all-wheels/p1
Actually v22 should FIX this high pitched coil whine noise which is present in v18... ;)
okay motor v22 was reported by some users to make the FFB notchy and didn't cause the coil whine.
So this what I described above is coilwhine? No. It's the oppositem v22 is the most recent firmware which fixed all kind of singing/coil whine. Older firmwares just make it worse again.
Good, will keep it as it is. Will ignore the singing/chirping for now then. Until there's a newer firmware or any other solution. Perhaps it's dust-built up, haha.
if it concerns too much, please feel free to contact the support and provide them with a video.
